ปัญหาทางอาชญากรรมที่เกิดขึ้นในจังหวัดนครศรีนครศรีธรรมราชในขณะนี้นั้น
ส่วนใหญ่ เกิดจากกลุ่มวัยรุ่นอายุระหว่าง 17-22 ปี โดยมีสาเหตุมาจาก
ปัญหายาเสพติดเป็นอันดับหนึ่ง เพราะในช่วงนี้ ยาเสพติดมีราคาแพง จึงทำให้
เกิดปัญหาต่าง ๆ เช่น ก่อคดีลักทรัพย์และ คดีวิ่งราวทรัพย์ ส่วนปัญหาอันดับสอง
คือ ปัญหาทางเพศ ที่รับเอาวัฒนธรรมตะวันตกเข้ามา เช่น เซ็กส์หมู่
การแย้งชิงเพื่อนต่างเพศ การล่อลวงทางอินเตอร์เน็ต และการมั่วสุม
